John Leary

ASIST

About: John is a member of the ISPC.

As a proven smart decision maker, John graduated from Idaho State University with a BBA, paying his way as a scholarship football team starter.  John attributes his successful 20+ years Healthcare IT career to being able to troubleshoot people in stressful situations, as well as the technology, and communicating with clients in their language, not ‘geek speak’.  Being able to effectively observe, interact and predict people along with his artistic eye, contributed to his award winning 15 year stint as a wedding and portrait photographer with his wife Nina.

It was natural for John to move into teaching human connections as a certified LivingWorks ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention SkillsTraining) workshop trainer.  John’s goal is see an Idaho network of trainers that can reach out to all Idaho communities providing suicide prevention and intervention education.
